Engineering innovation from idea to reality
We bridge the gap between what technology CAN do
and what it MUST do.
Most organizations don't lack ideas.
They lack engineered innovation.
Ideas are abundant. Turning them into reliable, deployed systems is the real challenge.
Technical Complexity
Multidisciplinary challenges span software, AI, embedded systems, and hardware — overwhelming any siloed team or single vendor.
No single discipline masters the full stackFragmented Expertise
Critical skills scattered across separate teams and vendors — no unified architecture, no shared vision, no integrated delivery.
Disconnected parts, no coherent wholeUnclear Execution
No structured path from prototype to production. Ideas stall at proof-of-concept — never reaching real-world deployment.
Prototype ≠ deployable systemResult: promising ideas remain concepts.
How We Bridge The Gap
Four engineering disciplines. One mission: transform ideas into deployed reality.
GRCP — Multi-Organization Waste Management Platform
WHY The Challenge
6 intermunicipal organizations, 113 recyparcs — each with their own rules, staff, and processes. One platform had to serve all of them without forcing any to compromise their operational model.
HOW Our Approach
Cloud platform on Angular, ASP.NET & SQL Server with plugin architecture. Shared core logic, organization-specific modules per deployment. Real-time PDA integration for field agents across all sites.
WHAT The Result
- 113 recyparcs managed on one platform
- 2.9M citizen visits recorded
- 6 orgs, one unified codebase
Kando — Intelligent Care Home Ecosystem
WHY The Challenge
Care staff overwhelmed with administrative tasks. No tool capable of handling voice interaction, biometric identification, and emergency calls simultaneously — with zero installation complexity in a care environment.
HOW Our Approach
From innovation workshops to manufactured product. Kando Box: voice + biometric + RFID in one enclosure. Smart Button: NFC nurse call with haptic feedback. Kando Space: software layer for care coordination and reporting.
WHAT The Result
- 3 products co-engineered end to end
- 0 installation works required
- Active in nursing homes across Belgium
Zharis — Sovereign AI Compute, 10 Gb/s in 1U
WHY The Challenge
Broadcast, surveillance, and regulated environments needed real-time AI inference at 10 Gb/s — on-premises, without cloud dependency. Sending sensitive video and audio to external infrastructure was impractical or legally impossible.
HOW Our Approach
Thelis owned the complete hardware stack: system architecture, electronics design, PCB, thermal management, and production. Packaged in 1U for edge deployment. Consortium with Phoenix AI (software/AI layer), UCLouvain, ULiège — Walloon Region co-funded.
WHAT The Result
- 10 Gb/s AI inference, fully on-premises
- 1U rack — complete self-contained system
- 100% sovereign — no cloud required
D-CAF — Next-Generation Dosimetry for Particle Therapy
WHY The Challenge
Proton therapy precision depends entirely on dosimetry. Existing tools couldn't meet next-generation therapy demands. Measurement accuracy isn't a performance metric — it directly determines whether a patient receives the correct dose.
HOW Our Approach
48-month R&D program with IBA, UCLouvain, and ULB. Thelis built hardware design, embedded firmware, and control software as one integrated system. 760 electrodes, real-time acquisition — double the electrode density of the previous generation.
WHAT The Result
- 760 electrodes — double previous density
- ×2 precision in dose measurement
- Real-time acquisition, increased system uptime
Innovation is not a miracle breakthrough. It is engineered progress.
How we engineer innovation
A four-phase methodology that takes any raw concept and transforms it into an operational, deployed system.
Idea
Raw concept. A problem worth solving, an opportunity worth pursuing. The starting point never needs to be perfect — it just needs to be real.
Structure
The engineering framework. Architecture, constraints, milestones — turning vision into a buildable, testable plan with clear technical scope.
Sincerity
Intellectual honesty. Validate rapidly, adapt ruthlessly. What works is kept; what doesn't is discarded — before it costs too much.
Reality
Operational deployment. The system works in the real world — tested, scalable, and genuinely running in production environments.
Innovation requires both structure and sincerity — without both, ideas remain ideas.
Structure for continuous innovation
Inspired by Scrumban — a disciplined, iterative approach that keeps every project in motion, from raw concept to deployed system, without losing momentum or precision.
Rapid Experiments
Test early, learn fast
Continuous Validation
Verify at every step
Iterative Engineering
Build, refine, repeat
Scalable Architecture
Built to grow from day one
From idea to prototype to deployable system — without losing momentum or engineering quality.
Intelligent systems
solving real problems
From first prototype to production — we engineer systems that operate in the real world, not just on paper.
AI-Driven Automation
ML pipelines, language models, intelligent decision systems
Data Platforms
Analytics engines, real-time pipelines, decision tooling
Embedded Devices
Intelligent technologies integrated into physical infrastructure
Hardware Systems
PCB design, validation, and production-ready hardware
Proof-of-Concept
Rapid validation prototypes that de-risk innovation before scale

Why Thelis is different
Three principles that define how we work — and why it matters.
We build systems. Not strategies.
We don't stop at recommendations. Every engagement ends with a working, deployed system — code that runs, hardware that ships, software that operates at scale.
Concept to prototype to deployed technology.
From the first sketch to the final deployment, we own the full journey. No handoff friction, no translation loss — one team, one pipeline, from idea to reality.
Disciplined engineering. Honest about uncertainty.
We apply rigorous methodology — and we tell you what we don't know. Intellectual honesty about complexity is how we build systems you can rely on long-term.
"Engineering innovation from idea to reality."The Thelis motto
Ready to engineer
your innovation?
You have the vision. We have the engineering.
Let's build something real — together.
